Mixed Martial Arts or MMA

Custom Search

Mixed Martial Arts or MMA, is a combination of Boxing, KickBoxing, Karate, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This combination is what makes up the Best Martial Art.

Combining striking and grappling arts creates a well rounded Self-Defense System.

In the past it has often been said that there is no best style. Now there is and it is proven over and over again in events like the Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC. The competitor that is not a well rounded Martial Artist loses.

The evolution of Mixed Martial Arts has rocked the Martial Arts world. This is both good and bad.

The competitors in events like the UFC are extremely well trained and conditioned athletes. They also seem at times to be fringe personalities, sporting wild hair styles or no hair, numerous tattoos, etc.

Not necessarily the best role models.

The UFC and this aspect of MMA is a sport. It is meant to entertain and grow a large audience. And it has done so, but at a price.

Many people now think Martial Arts are all about fighting. Gone is the respect and courtesy found in most Martial Arts schools.

Martial Arts are about Self-Defense, Courtesy, and Respect, not fighting and entertainment.
