Training at Home
Here are the recommendations we have for getting the most out Training at Home:
1. Designate a specific area at least 10 feet by 10 feet for Training at Home. Make sure the area is clear and/or you are aware of any furniture or objects that could cause injury.
2. Find a good partner. If you can not find a good partner, visualize and practice by yourself. Make sure that you repeat your moves at least 10 times. Perform the technique slowly and increase your intensity as you progress.
3. Purchase your Karate Uniform, Gi, from and wear it with your belt. This will make sure you are in the right state of mind to train.
4. If you can purchase the following equipment from our online store, it will be shipped directly to your home; Powerline Wavemaster, or preferably a Powerline Wavemaster XXL, wrist wrap bag gloves, two focus mitts, and you can even purchase puzzle mats to designate your training area and add an extra level of safety. This is equipment is not required, but will greatly enhance your training experience.
5. If you choose not to purchase the recommended equipment, simply mimic the moves that are performed on the bags or focus mitts. Use your imagination and visualize the bag, focus mitts, or your partner.
6. Always go back and review your previous material and workouts. For example after you have completed the Gold Belt Course and are now studying for your Orange Belt, occasionally go back and review the Gold Belt Curriculum. Do this with every Belt Course as you progress. This will not only insure that you remember your skills, but it will also keep your training fresh and exciting.
