What is the Best Martial Art?
For over 20 years I asked myself the same question. What is the Best Martial Art? Having achieved Black Belts in three different styles and studied with dozens of Masters and Champions, I concluded that many styles were simply too complicated to really work.
The simpler styles; Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai, and Sport Karate seemed to have the upper hand, but after winning seven International Karate Championships, I had determined that it was more often the athlete than the style.
I believed that there was not a Superior Martial Arts style.
Boy was I wrong.
In 1993 I had the chance to train with world renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Rickson Gracie.
My world changed that day and soon after the entire Martial Arts World was changed.
I watched Rickson, pronounced Hickson, submit over 50 participants one at time in the course of an hour and I was one of them. Never in my life did I feel so helpless. Once on the ground I was completely out of my element and easy pickings for the Ground Fighting Master.
Later that year,Rickson’s little brother, Royce Gracie went on to win the first
Ultimate Fighting Championship and the begining of a new style of Martial Arts was born.
Was it Gracie Jiu-Jitsu? No….but that is a big part of it. The Best Martial Art is a combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, KickBoxing, Karate, and Submission Wrestling.
At Best-Martial-Arts-Training.com we teach the a system of Martial Arts at a level that can be used by everyday people, not Mixed Martial Arts athletes.
